Ckck (last moon post, probably):

The Hasselblad EDC (Electric Data Camera) was a specially designed camera intended for use on the surface of the moon, where the first lunar pictures were taken on July 20th, 1969 by Neil Armstrong. The camera was equipped with a specially designed Biogon lens with a focal length of 60 mm, with a polarization filter mounted on the lens. A glass plate (Reseau-Plate), provided with reference crosses which were recorded on the film during exposure, was in contact with the film, and these crosses can be seen on all the pictures taken on the moon from 1969 to 1972. The 12 HEDC cameras used on the surface of the moon were left there. Only the film magazines were brought back.

Ckck:

I just won one of these beauties on eBay, a Canon Canonet G-III QL17 rangefinder. I only paid $56 for it, plus shipping, which should be a steal if it’s in as good a shape as the seller promised.

Great lines, I could pretty much look at this all day.

New York 2008 by Vicente Sahuc. Filmed with a Casio EX-F1 at 300 frames per second, but the secret to the slow, gliding shots is the one-two punch of roller skates and the Merlin Steadicam. (via Kris Lane)

Unedited video from Jarred Bishop’s new Canon 5D2. I did some filming in the weekend for an upcoming project with a borrowed 5D2; its ease of use in the video stakes is quite incredible, and because it looks like a DSLR, your subjects often don’t realise they’re being filmed, which is good if you’re after unrehearsed reactions.
