Nicholas Felton publishes his 2009 Annual Report:

Each day in 2009, I asked every person with whom I had a meaningful encounter to submit a record of this meeting through an online survey. These reports form the heart of the 2009 Annual Report. From parents to old friends, to people I met for the first time, to my dentist… any time I felt that someone had discerned enough of my personality and activities, they were given a card with a URL and unique number to record their experience.

A lesser designer would have given this information primacy, but Beane recognized that the titles, while crucial, are not the story themselves.

Discovering new objects makes fun! The site of German icon/pictogram designer Stefan Dziallas is a single, expertly crafted page that shows off his work on a variety of projects. He makes this stuff look easy, but I’m impressed with the way he simplifies complex ideas into simple pictures. Lovely typography too, consider me inspired to redesign this here tumblelog. For the last three years, New York-based graphic designer Nicholas Felton has recorded the minutiae of his life in order to produce his own “annual report”. I’ve just received the 2007 print edition by post, beautifully packaged and presented in booklet form. I promised no more Kris Sowersby links, but it would be remiss of me not to mention that the publication is typeset in his Feijoa face, along with Univers Ultra Light Condensed.
