The League of Moveable Type has released a new straight-sided display sans, League Gothic. It’s a revival of Alternate Gothic No.1 originally designed by Morris Fuller Benton for the American Type Founders Company (ATF) in 1903. (via Jon Hicks)

Open Baskerville
Simon Pascal Klein’s open-source project to create a digital revival of the famous “Baskerville” typefaces. The font will be licensed under either the Open Font License or the GNU GPL version 3. Klein’s background post has more. (via Johno Boardley)

A collection of open-source fonts. Could have done with a few more faces to launch with, but I’m sure this will grow to be a useful resource. Its sole inhabitant today is Junction, inspired by Caroline Hadilaksono’s favourite humanist sans-serif typefaces: Meta, Myriad and Scala. (via Michael Lopp)
